How to Compare Sportsbook Odds
The same prop is priced differently at every book. Comparing them is the cheapest, most repeatable habit in sports betting.
Books price risk independently. On the same prop, one book may offer −122 and another −135 — a gap of 2.5 points of break-even on a market priced near 50/50. The comparison is free; ignoring it isn’t.
Compare like with like
Same player, same stat, same line, same side. Then convert every price to implied probability so the comparison is apples-to-apples.
The best price is a real edge
Taking −122 instead of −135 doesn’t make the bet more likely to win — it makes the same bet cheaper. Over hundreds of decisions, price discipline compounds like it does in any other market.
